2025-2026 FHS Boys Varsity Hockey Roster
The Flyers opened the winter with a competitive stretch that tested their mettle. They dropped their opener to Natick 4–2 at home, then lost a close one to Walpole 4–2 on the road and fell to Shrewsbury 4–3. But Framingham found its footing quickly during the holiday tournament stretch. They knocked off Marshfield 6–0 in the MHL Cup before falling to Saint John's Shrewsbury 5–2, then lost to rival Lincoln-Sudbury 5–3 on New Year's Eve. myhockeylivemyhockeylive
Once league play began in earnest in January, the Flyers were nearly unstoppable. They beat Wellesley 4–0, defeated Braintree 2–0, edged Weymouth 3–2, knocked off Brookline 4–1, dispatched Algonquin 7–1, topped Milton 2–1, rolled over Newton North 7–1, beat Natick in overtime 4–3, downed Needham 4–2, defeated Wellesley again 3–1, and closed out league play with a dominant 7–4 win over Brookline. That 11–1 conference mark was a statement. myhockeylive
The one blemish in league play was a 6–5 loss to Arlington Catholic at home on January 17. myhockeylive
The offensive engine was nothing short of remarkable. Sophomore Colin Walsh led the team with an eye-popping 33 goals and 19 assists for 52 points in 20 games. He was complemented brilliantly by senior captain Adam Kornbau, who racked up 24 goals and 33 assists for 57 points — the team's top point-getter. Together, those two formed one of the most potent one-two punches in the Bay State Conference. Senior Ryan McAuliffe added 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points, while Jonathan Coutinho chipped in 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points. Myhockeylive + 2
In net, the Flyers were anchored by senior Danny McAuliffe, who posted a 2.86 GAA with 2 shutouts across 582 minutes of play. Freshman Viktor Schurz provided a capable and impressive complement, logging a standout 1.54 GAA with 1 shutout in 293 minutes. MyhockeyliveMyhockeylive
The Flyers made a deep run in the Ed Cahoon Cup invitational tournament. They beat Burlington 6–4 in the semifinal before falling to Chelmsford 5–3 in the championship game. myhockeylive
Framingham hosted the MIAA Division 1 State Tournament Round of 32 on February 26, but fell to Lincoln-Sudbury 7–2 — a rematch of a regular-season loss to the Warriors. It was a tough ending to what had been a terrific season, with Lincoln-Sudbury proving to be the team's kryptonite all year. myhockeylive
With Kornbau, Ryan McAuliffe, and several other seniors graduating, there will be significant losses to replace. But the future is bright. Walsh is only a sophomore, Schurz a freshman, and the defensive core returns key pieces. Coach Aguilar has built something real in Framingham — and the Flyers look like legitimate Bay State contenders for years to come.
